The Brage Open-Air Museum The museum buildings are gathered around a square yard in accordance with the custom that has been common in Swedish speaking Ostrobothnia since the mid-eighteenth century. Altogether, nine buildings originate from the Harf homestead in Närpes, 90 kilometers south of Vaasa. The buildings were moved to Vaasa in the 1920s and 1930s, following the examples of the Skansen outdoor museum in Stockholm and the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum in Helsinki. The main building and the other houses are furnished according to old peasant tradition. There is a decorated wedding-room and a clothing loft with colourful textiles. Among the many buildings in the open-air museum there is also a seal hunting museum. Additional information is available at the museum.
