Nest

Tuonela was a gel nest, but because the mildew problem related to gel, I'm planning to transform it to "regular" formicarium.

Diary

8.7.2007. Ants moved to Valhalla. I took a little piece of gel around their hole and moved it to Valhalla.

7.7.2007. We have a baby, little ant baby. Her name is JonesGirl.

29.6.2007. Now the problem seems to be the mildew. There are some black spots on the gel.

24.6.2007. Everything looks fine. Queen Raat has dig a hole and moved eggs or the larvas there. I've been feeding her flies for a while and them have been eaten quite fast.

3.6.2007. This is the only nest doing fine at the moment. The queen, Raat, has made some eggs and I'm very hopeful.

29.5.2007 It seems like the queen has done first egg.

26.5.2007. Tuonela got it's queen. She is most likely Myrmica Rubra queen or Myrmica Ruginodis.
