Winter without snow - is it possible then make winter expedition???

Anyway we tryed to make, this time gang was RU1AS,RX1AX (2 HF MAN RV2FW/1 & RA2FW) & OH5LID. Before BCC 2006 I made with Alex RU1AS small trip for hunting good QTH for BCC from KO57. That trip we looked also out locator from Alex grandmother house - KO58ap it was. Just seems we are getting older so January we want to be inside house... But this time wx was most of time only wet, just last night little bit -c and country went more dry, great to make set down. So what was our result during expedition - 30 litre beer, 7 litre vodka, one broken PTT inside TS-2000, 1500 km driving (900 km with trailer tower in tow bar) but also few QSOs we made!

1st Jan Evening I start from KP41kl, just after midnight pass OH-UA border (again tower went to Russia, just maybe 30min extra in custom, not much at all)

2nd Jan After 300km driving was in RU1AS home, 3 hour sleeping and wake up. Anton RX1AX we saw in 1st shop, just some drinks and foods, then back on the road, this time distance was not too long, about 150km from St Petersburg. VHF setup was already made when our HF gang RV2FW/1 Victor & RA2FW Juri went there (seems HF side like sleep longer...) Evening went quite well, also NAC was interest, not so menu QSOs but some QRM we really made. Just QTF OH/ES we had some QRM hole time, other direction were ok. Evening was some problems with VUSHF DX-peditions Shouts also via GPRS connection, at first we guess abt money off from pre paid sim card, but after 1 day saw that just pc another place and works ok... just GPRS card show QSO ok but really it's not that anyway... Every trip we learn something new, how clever we'll be after 20 year?

3rd Jan Morning Anton's Kenwood TS-2000 stop giving PTT signal for linear, seems something blow up. My FT-897D also didn't want to key linear, something really strange with CAT output. Victor had FT-100, was keying ok with same cable than my but we didn't had cable between RIG-PC... really shit... so after several hour planning, drinking and smoking was only way to fix problem start to drive with 100w output. (hmmm... next time maybe better start that directly hee!!!) Anyway evening was nice to work with good burst, just we didn't find so menu point for MWC as was interest, but anyway made our best score with this contest period.

4th Jan Morning was time to make set down, just HF gang wanted to be there longer (maybe plan to make 1st HF qso also?). 20 UTC at least home!!! Once trip made, next shower will be June... Then again can start contesting in new MWC period. Just pse update your missing sqr info now, and we are more happy when try work with U, also it gives more interest to plan futures expeditions when we know who really want some sqr.

Last night with full moon.

Time to relax RU1AS, RX1AX and RA2FW.

After relaxing time to go on air using some rocks says OH5LID.

OK I want to do it first says RX1AX.

Anybody mind I take this - seems RX1AX to think.

Rocks and spirits are true hard hitters. Now we are done says RV2FW/1 and RX1AX. But why not plan next trip?
