During the year 2001 I began to have room for a dog in my life. My shetland sheep dog, Jesse, had past away for almost three years ago, and in spite of two cats it was kind of empty in my home. I started looking for a suitable puppy, and I dreamed of a dogue de bordeaux, although I knew it wasn't so easy to get one. I found Kennel Anuler's web site and a litter had just been born! I returned to the pages over and over again, but didn't dare to contact Anu immediately. I called about many puppies of different breed, but again I found myself admiring ddb puppies. Finally I contacted Anu. My ex-boyfriend wanted only a male puppy and I was very sorry to hear that all the boys from the litter were reserved.

However, I asked Anu to contact me if the situation changed and it was worth it. People, who had reserved Hugo, didn't want him, because he has a kinked tail.Over a ten years' dream was coming true! Anu brought Hugo to Finland with his brother (Anuker Cassius) and he was everything I hoped for. Even a couple of tears of joy were shed, when I finally got Hugo into my arms.... Hugo has always had a soft personality, so our life together hasn't always been so easy. To his own people he is the best friend in the world. And to me he is the dog of my life, he has tought me so much about ddbs and their world. He always wants to be with me. That's probably why he suffered from separation anxiety, when he was young.

Hugo has been healthy all his life, only in summer 2005 he started to suffer from infections, which finally forced me to take him to castration. He has also had some allergies. But even today, he is playful and wild, although he is already 7 years old. The only thing that reminds me of his age is a longer and deeper nap during the day. I hope to have many more years together with this loving dogue.
