Welcome to the Dusilla Awards Program! This program started October 2002.

Purpose
After receiving so many wonderful Awards, a thought of my own awards program started to develop. The Awards have given me very much joy, and I wanted to pass the good forward.
These are not awards that any site can get just by applying. The purpose is to award sites, which appeal me by their design, quality of content, and functionality. User friendliness is very important.
Any site can apply, except those mentioned in the Criteria.

Criteria
Basic Rules
- No sites with or links to:
adult, pornographic, sexual or explicit, hateful, illegal, sexist, racist, cruelty to animals, occultism, violence, abusive or foul language etc. content
- The site must be absolutely child safe.
- The language of the site should be English, Finnish, German or Swedish.
- No forced full screen, cursor trailers, or required uploads (fonts etc.).
- No pop-ups asking information before one can enter the site.
- The site must not crash my computer.
- You must be 14 or older (C.O.P.P.A).
- No copyright violations.
If your site isn't up to these basic requirements, please, do not apply for the Awards, it will not be evaluated.
Design
I don't use a point system in my evaluation process, but there are a few things I look for in a good site:
- The text must be readable: not too small, and not too similar to the background.
- All images with "alt" texts.
- I don't like frames, but if they are used well, they are OK.
- No flash intro or a possibility to skip it at once.
- If you have music, a way to easily turn it off (before it freezes my computer).
- Not too much blinking and animated gifs.
- No rolling text anywhere.
- Not too loud colors, but a harmonious color design.
- As few pop-ups as possible.
- No rainbow text or tExT liKE THiS.
- Enough white space, not too stuffed.
- Not too long pages.
- A possibility to go to the top of the page (a link provided) after about three scrolls.
- No scripts to disable the right mouse button.
- Good and logical navigation, so that it is easy to find one's way around the site.
Content
- The site must have some original content, not just links and banners.
- The images used must be appropriate and of good quality.
- All contents must be your own, or the sources must be mentioned.
I evaluate the sites according to these Criteria and also my taste and personal opinions about web design.

There are four Awards: Excellence, Friendship, Elegance, and Puppy. The Award graphics come in two sizes (153 x 200 and 115 x 150) to choose from. The graphics are presented here in their original sizes . The "sample" text will be removed from the actual Awards.
The Excellence Award is for generally good websites, which follow my awards criteria, and which I like.
The Friendship Award is for a website, which don't quite qualify for the Excellence Award, but pleases me so much that I want to give it an award.
The Elegance Award is my top award. It is very difficult to get. Only those few websites, which I find absolutely stunning and of top quality, will get this one.
The Puppy Award is mainly for children's sites. Not for child-webmasters (C.O.P.P.A), but for sites written for children. It is of the same level as the Excellence and Frienship Awards combined.

Privacy policy
Information collected for the evaluation (see application) are for the use of the evaluation process only. After the process is over, everything else but the eventual winner's Site Name and URL will be deleted. The Site Name and URL will be added to the winners list. No part of the provided information will be passed or distributed to anyone else.
Writing and entering information in my guestbook (not required in the award program) is like writing in public.
