YEAR 2010 DECEMBER 29.12. Year is about to end and it’s time to look back. Juno
has been in 8 shows this year with 7 Excellents and 1 Very Good.. He got 3
CAC’s and 1 resCAC. Juno was BOS on Estonia and gained 2 champion titles. Soni has been shown very rarely with only 4 shows
with 4 excellents. Once BOB and one resCACIB. Tepi continues as a
couchchampion... We are now just waiting for the summer. Winter seems
to be very cold and snowy. It means we stay indoors and under the blankets! Happy and successful year 2011 to You all! UPDATES OCTOBER 18.10. It has been quiet with the dogshows. We will be
going to 2 more shows this year in Finland. They are both updated to Juno’s
page. We had an excellent trip to Estonia last weekend!
Juno gained Estonian Champion –title! Our pet’s page has been updated with 4 lovely mice.
Both of our zebramice died to some mysterious disease last summer. L UPDATES AUGUST 22.8. Let’s keep it short again.. Trip to Denmark
didn’t bring us any new titles, but Neela (Bulldobas Goldielocks) saved our
day! Nellu’s new titles are DE CH, NORDIC CH & C.I.B.*! Juno finished his
championship today at Heinola. He got a excellet critique and beated his
father once again. UPDATES JUNE 29.6. Summer is on its
best and I’ve been sooooo busy. I was organizin LC-competition in Mustiala few
weeks ago. The rush started in the beginning of May and ended just now. Juno got his
second CAC few weeks ago and he will be attending few shows soon in Finland
to get THE third one. Usually Soni is entered too, he likes to be in a ring
so why to stop..? Juno didi his debute in LureCoursing in Mustiala a week
ago. Unfortunately he’s points weren’t enough for the finals but now we know
he knows what to do and has enough guts to do it. While being on a
summerholiday, like every other year, I’ve noticet that I’ve forgot the final
entrydates to many shows. Thats why (once again) you won’t see us as many
shows as I’ve planned. MAY 2.5. Summerseason is
about to begin and w edo have a lot of different plans for the summer! Lure
and trackcoursing practises will start next week at Hyvinkää and you’ll find
us there again. Juno will entry
few shows here in Finland and the hunt for the two last CCs can begun! Hopefully
I will have the time to attend few shows this summer. I’ll be also arranging
2 lc-competitions. Soni got mail
from Belgium. He is now officially C.I.B (old INT CH). APRIL 1.4. Nothing has happened.. I made some changes to pages,
spring always make me want some changes. YEAR 2009 DECEMBER 30.12. The last update
for this year. Soni finished his INT CH title over a week ago in Lithuania.
The last CACIB was really expected and finally we got it! (resCACIB for
starters but later on it will be a real one!) I’ve posted applications needed
and FCI will confirm his new title somewhere next year. Soni’s year has been
great so far! 15 shows ( Next year Soni is
not going to be in the ring as much as this year, but we will atted some shows
at summertime! Now we concentrate on the wedding and I also promised that we
will be spending our honeymoon without dogs! :D Happy and successful
New Year 2010 to You all! UPDATES 2.12. Year is almost at
the end. W still have 4 shows to go, I will be able to
spend a long christmasholiday before I return back to work in the begining of
next year. I’ve been thinking to renew dog’s winterclothes, It seems that
Juno’s jacket is getting too small. Tepi’s jacket seems to be too tight.. He
is now living with my parents at “granma’s place”. We will see if he’s coming
back here. I know the food is better there.. I also added
Soni’s and Juno’s thyroidtestresults in their own pages. They look good, just
as I expected them to be. UPDATES NOVEMBER 8.11. Lots of time has
passed, again. Lots of has happened between updates. Soni got another title
from Sweden by beingin Sundsvall INT BD2 and got a CAC. The last CACIB keeps
waiting for itself, but I think it will come sooner or later. Juno has been in
one show and result was reCAC. Autumn isn’t the best time for a young boy to
show his talent. Unfortunately I’ve been watching a lot of shows from the TV,
thanks to Toni who bought a videocamera. At least now I can try to learn from
my mistakes. Year is almost
ending but Soni will be in few shows this year. Hopefully the roof renovation
hasn’t torn hurricane’s nerves totally.. UPDATES AUGUST 22.8. Great weekend
behind! Soni suprised us all by being the best of breed in Mustiala in
Finnish sighthoundspecialty. That wasn’t yet enough and hurricane won the
group later in the same evening an in Sunday he was BEST IN SHOW!! As you
might guess many of us were in tears, it was such a great feeling! J Today it was Juno’s
turn to suprise me by getting his first CAC from Kouvola. He needs still more
practise, but it’s nice to know he is developing still. UPDATES 3.8. Mice are finally
here! It was quite interesting to travel in a small car with 2 adults, 2
mouse, 2 basenji & bullterrier. We must start planning a bigger car if
the family gets any bigger.. UPDATES JULY 28.7. We are back at
home from our trip to Latvia. We had a really nice time and also have 2 new
Latvian champions! Soni and Tuuli gained their CH-titles in Saturday, Soni by
being BOB and Tuuli BOS. Soni also suprised me in the groupring by being 5th.
In both breed- and groupring the jugde was a really nice german gentleman
Wilfried Peper. On Sunday Soni
was BOB again and Tuuli & Tepi got just Excellents. Soni wasn’t placed in
the groupring but it is always nice to visit in the “big ring”. Sundays
thunderstorm wasn’t nice but the sunshine before and after made us feel a bit
better. Suprisingly this
time I saw more than the hotel and show venue, thanks to Toni. You can find a
lot of pictures from gallery! UPDATES 14.7. Finally I find
the time and energy to drag myself to the computer and make updates of our
new familymembers! Few shows are
behing and the next will be in Marupe Latvia for 2 national shows with Tepi,
Soni and Tuuli. We are nicely putting together “work” and holiday. This time
I do hope that I will see something else than just the showvenue and hotel.. Toni has moved
almoust all his stuff here. (and Siiri too.) UPDATES JUNE 22.6. I know it has
been ages since I’ve updated anything, my apologies again.. I’ve collected all
show results from the past few months together. Juno’s “career” has started
quite nicwly and it will continue soon! I’ve also added a
few more fishes to my auarium. More updates soon MARCH 15.3. After a short
break we visited at Tampere INT dogshoe. Soni was second in championclass and
BD2. Tepi got VG. Tepi will be visiting few more few shows this year. It was also great
to show Soni in breederclass with his son Karma. We did leave some space
between father and the son.. J FEBRUARY 19.2. I’m having the
most awful flu as I can remember.. Boys will be next in Tampere INT after a
month. I’ll be workin in LC-competition just in few weeks. Hopefully I’ll be
feeling a bit better then.. I haven’t planned
the summer schedule a lot but we will be visiting few shows nearby and
lc-competitions also. I’m planning to get racing-licence to Juno and MAYBE
race with Soni & Juno next summet. Only event I know for sure is Estonian
Winner in the beginning of June. Hotels and boat-trips are already reserved.
Time will tell will there be any other trips to abroad this summer. 25.1. I know that I’ve
been very lazy with updating my homepages.. I have to blame my old internet
server that run out of free homepage space. Things are getting better after
changing the server so here we are again! This year I promise to be more
active end even add some new pictures! YEAR 2008 NOVEMBER 11.11. Time is passing
by with a great speed. Nothing special has happened since last update,
full-time work takes almoust all my energy.. Juno visited in a show in
Estonia and the result was VG. Trip was lovely and at least we bought a lot
of “souverniers”. This year tri’s
will go to two shows. Next week we’ll have a “family-holiday” and take Soni,
Juno, Tuuli & Maisa to Norway to Norwegian winner. We’ll also participate
in Finnish Winner in December. My thoughts are
already in next summer.. Juno will be old enought to compete in track- and
lurecoursing. I’ve also planned to take Tepi to few competitions, maybe even
in shows.. SEPTEMBER 13.9. Juno has been in
few shows for now and the results are great! Last week he was BOB-puppy in
Helsinki with a GREAT critique and today BD2-puppy in Porvoo. Tomorrow you
can find us from Riihimäki puppyshow and next weekend from Hyvinkää. Much
action before winter comes and forces us to stop.. AUGUST 21.8. My homepages are finally
updated! I’ve been so busy with new job that I’ve totally have totally
forgotten these.. Lots of updates and some adjustent.. JULY 30.7. Summer is about
to end and I’m just getting started.. Juno has been
doing (despite of his young age) a lot. We had a change to try track coursing
in Helsinki. He really is born-to-run. Also in showrings he has been quite
succesfull, in official and un-ufficial shows. Soni stopped by
in World Winner 2008 and got a resCC. I’ve never been as glad of resCC that I
was then.. He is doing quite well also in lure-coursing. We will continue
running & showing in near future. Tepi concentrates
on guarding, eating and sleeping. He is now undoubted boss of our herd. Dogs have settled
in to our new home suprisingly well. My work will start on Monday but luckily
all weekends are always free! JUNE 12.6. I’m desperately
trying to move all my things to other address, so updating these pages will
be lazy in the near future. Do I really need
all this stuff?!? Better keep this
short and simple. MAY 14.5. Tough weekend is
behind. Juno was in match show on Friday and he was the second from blue
ribbon puppies. He knows to behave but somehow he has got a lot of energy,
wonder where he got that from.. On Saturday the
whole ”family” went to SuomiCup LC-competition here in Jyväskylä. Tepi and
Soni was competing with the best lure coursers from last year so we didn’t
expect much. Soni ran the first run nicely with Kerttu (Bulldobas dream Of
Kenya) but his points weren’t enough for the finals. Tepi ran also nicely
with Timon (Bulldobas No Regrets) and he went to the finals as 6th. In the finals
Tepi continued his great running and was finally 7/12 with SQ. Juno was also
spending his Saturday there and I was amazed how well our junior was behaving
under the burning sun. Next week Soni
will compete with 18 other basenjis in Helsinki INT. Judge will be Sari Brewster
Tientjen (USA). 5.5. Last Tuesday Juno
was for the first time lure coursing! It was really beautiful to watch..
Pictures later! For the whole
weekend I was outside with the dogs and my skin burnt quite badly, again.. On
Thursday I was with Toivola’s boys (Tito, Valo, Sulo & Nappi) with some
activities. Fisrt we practised showing and took some pictures too. Then it
was time for lure chasing and it went well! On Saturday Soni
attented his first track coursing competition. Start went well and he even left
nose first from the ”box”. Time wasn’t so good but it was enough for him in
the first start ever! On Sunday it was
Juno’s turn to be a show star. He was in his first match show and showed
himself really nicely and won the blue ribbon puppies. He is really calm and
easy to show. I wonder where he got that from, not from his father I think. I
also showed “Tepi’s dad” Sulo in the same match show and he was BIS4! What a
nice start after a long break from shows! This Saturday
Soni & Tepi will attend a lc-competition here in Jyväskylä. I’m really
nervous already. APRIL 28.4. A lot has
happened again. Soni was third in champion class in Jyväskylä INT. He was
also BD3 with a great critique. Next show will be Aptus INT in Helsinki in
the end of May. I’ll be attending there with Soni if not take Junior with me
as a tourist.. J Soni visited also in a match show and the result was nice:
BIS6! Soni will compete
in track coursing for the first time in Tampere 3rd of May. I’m not expecting
too much, hopefully he will find his way out of the box.. Both boys will also
compete in Lure Coursing here in Jyväskylä. Coursing will take place in 10th
of May. They’ll compete with the best dogs from last season, of course they
were one of the bests too.. Juno’s show
calendar has also started to shape up. He’ll be going to Estonia with us and
of course we will attend at Finnish basenji specialty! Boys are enjoying
the sun so much. I really hope that the summer is really coming now. 11.4. Next week we will
be in Jyväskylä INT, Kari Järvinen (Finland) will judge 19 basenjis and Soni
will be one of them. Let’s see what will happen, you can never know it when
it is about our hurricane.. MARCH 31.3. Spring is almost
here and it’s time to wake up and perhaps have a little spring flue.. Our trip to
Lithuania was interesting.. No success for boys this time but Mrs Tuuli was fabulous..
On Saturday she was BOB with CC and CACIB and she may add the titles LT CH
& LT W –08 before her name and also INT CH after confirmation. On Sunday
she was BB1 and got also CC & CACIB, not bad.. Thank you Hansu &
Janne for the opportunity to handle her! Summer is coming
soon and it’s time for all our dear hobbies again! Soni will start racing
perhaps also lure-coursing and some shows of course! Tepi will continue LC
and he is now REALLY RETIRED from the shows! Juno will start practising
bunny-chase in LC-practises and has some shows too. Lots of fun ahead! J FEBRUARY 29.2. Boy accepted our
little man very nicely, finally.. J Juno is very much alike his father.. How
can I tell who’s who when he grows up..? I’ve been taking some photos and
they are now added to the pages. After few weeks
we’ll be going to 2 INT shows in Lithuania. I’m really excited and hoping
that spring is already there. I’m getting tired of all this snow. Plans for
the summer are quite clear, hopefully I have enough money.. 17.2. A day after
tomorrow our family will be growing! Small Juno-Boy will move here from
Muurame. J 11.2. Pages are now
even more bigger.. Check them to find out. 3.2. Time is running fast
again. We are still sleeping because the winter feels so bad.. At least we
have been in two shows. In Turku INT Soni got EXC and was 3rd in his class.
Kerttu (Bulldobas Dream Of Kenya) got also EXC and won her class and finally
being BB4 with resCC. We had a bit more
glamorous day in Keuruu group show today. Soni got EXC and was BD1 and got
the last CC he needed to be a FIN CH. Tepi was also visiting ring and he won
champion class and was BD2. Kerttu continued the same way by winning her
class and being BB1. She also got her last CC that she needed to be a FIN CH.
Finally Soni was BOB and Kerttu BOS and they are both now FIN CHs. We waited
for the group ring and it was worth it! Saija Juutilainen judged group 5 and
she placed Soni as BIG-3! It was a really
nice weekend in the middle of all this snow. Snowing seems to continue so we
will move closer to the fireplace. We’ll know what the future will bring when
we can see sunshine again.. J YEAR 2007 DECEMBER 29.12. This year is
coming to it’s end and I’ve been very lazy with the homepages.. Nothing
special has happened in dog shows, Soni won his class in Jyväskylä INT but
did not placed in BD-ring. We missed the winner –08 show, but next year
again. We are already
looking forward and planning next year’s shows and other competitions. My
first trip will take me to Kuopio to see Soni’s pups! J Successful new
year to all of you! NOVEMBER 5.11. Homepages are
looking like new. Hope the turn was not for worse. You can find it out
yourself. Both boys will be
invited to SuomiCup next spring. Soni was 13th best lure coursing basenji and
Tepi was 10th. I’m so proud! In Jyväskylä INT
will be 43 basenjies and in Helsinki INT 70 basenjis! Great! OCTOBER 28.10. I am getting old.
Yesterday’s dog show seemed to take all my powers. Soni was BOS and got his
3rd CACIB. Soni’s day wasn’t still over. He spent his evening with the
beautiful Tuuli (Afrikenji Hot Sumabreeze). Tuuli was BOB in Lahti so we are
hoping to have very beautiful puppies.. J After few weeks,
we’ll continue here in Jyväskylä dog show. Welcome! Lurecoursing
season ended in a good time. Now it’s time to start collecting energy for
next summer.. News from abroad:
Soni’s mom Siri became new American champion! Both Soni’s parents are now
fanconi-tested and both are also clear for fanconi-syndrome! SEPTEMBER 28.9. This year’s last
LC-competition went well, all thought it was raining a lot.. Boys were fourth
and fifth. They both got also SQ’s. Nice way to end this season.
Congratulations to Tepi’s afghan hound girlfriend for her 4th CC! We’ll still
have our local sight hound club’s unofficial lc-competition next week. Tepi’s
fancon-test results came yesterday. The result was clear! Both boys have had
all the tests that the possible breeding requires and with good results. Now
we are just waiting for the brides. LOL Tomorrow we are
going to go to Tampere and do the last test run for Soni’s track coursing
license. Hopefully he can start racing in the next season. There’s nothing
wrong with his LC but still.. 13.9. My computer broke
down; luckily I have already a new one! Tepi was in
temperament test one week ago and he passed it! You can find more specific
results from Tepi’s own page! There’s only one lc-competition left for this
season, we’ll be heading to Mikkeli next weekend. Of course we will
participate to local sighthoundclub’s unofficial lc-competition! AUGUST 30.8. Busy weekend was
almost too much for me. On Saturday Soni was BOS with CC and CACIB.
Congratulations to Tuuli being BOB and BIG-2! Luckily we were able to get
home quite early because on Sunday there were Finnish championchip in
lure-coursing. After the first run Soni was 7th and made to the finals (8
basenjies alltogether). Tepi was just 11th, same placing that in last year.
Then Soni suprised us all! He got the best points from the final run and was
fifth! Apparently day in the show didn’t make him tired (How on earth did I
guess that?). Soni’s DNA-test
came back. He is tested prob. clear/normal for Fanconi Syndrome. Tepi’s test
is just about to leave. 18.8 Nice day in Kouvola!
Soni was BOS and got his 6th CC and Soni’s dear friend Kerttu (Bulldobas
Dream Of Kenya) got her firts CC. Congratulations! Just a week before a busy
weekend and then the summer and action will be almost over.. 17.8. Summer is really
going too fast. A lot has happened and I’m trying to gather it all here.. Soni has two
shows behind and he got CC, resCC and CACIB. Soni has also shown that he
knows how to run. In Tampere lc-competition 6th out of 19 basenjis! We have
also almost started racing in the track.. Little Man rocks! With that much of
energy, you have to have a lot to do.. He was also tested for fanconi and we
are anxious to get the results. Tepi retired from
the shows after being in the ring in Pori INT. He didn’t do very well. I
don’t blame the judge, Tepi looked like a plummy italian greyhoung. He is now
concentrating in lure-coursing and prepairs hisself in temperamen test in
8th-9th September Tomorrow Kouvola
and next weekend Tervakoski INT and Finnish championchip in lure-coursing.
Keep your fingers crossed! JULY 24.7. Both boys did
fine in lc-competition in Jyväskylä! Both go SQ and Tepi was only a one poit
away from CC. Next weekend we will continue in Pori INT and a week after that
lc again. Summer is too short to sit by the computer. My apologys.. 15.7. Is Swedish
basenjispecialty Soni was 3rd in open class out of 13 males. Tepi’s sister
Diva beated us all and was BOS! Tuuli got CC and became S CH! Timon was 5th
in intermediate class with HP! What a
great trip for us all! Thank you Hansu, Janne and Tipi! Yesterday boys
were lure-coursing in Lahti. They both really did treir best! Tepi was second
after 1st run but after the finals he was 3rd of 8 dogs. Tepi ran the 1st run
with his sister Diva, who unfortunately fall down somewhere on the field.
Soni was 3rd after the first run and also after the final run out of 7 dogs.
Second place was just 3 points away. Both got SQ and I’m more than happy!
Lure-coursing will continue next weekend here in Jyväskylä. JUNE 18.6. Week ago Soni was
in 2 shows with great results! On Saturday in Finnish Basenjispecialty he won
open class with the only Exc and finally was BD3 with his 3rd CC from
Finland! Soni was also best tri-male and actually the only tricolor who got
Exc. (No-one got the best tri-bitch trophy.) On Sunday we went
to Jämsänkoski with Tepi and Teema (Furahan Habibu Endana). Tepi was just
relaxing after hard time in specialty but Soni & Teema went to the ring.
First Soni was the only male with Exc and got his 4th CC! Then Teema was BB2
and got her last CC and became a new FIN CH! Congratulations to Anna &
Teema! (Tepi sends special kisses to his black girl..) Soni was also BOB and
I had to go to the groupring all by myself for the first time ever.. It was
worth it! Soni was BIG-3 under the same judge Anneli Sutela (Finland). Yesterday it was
Tepi’s turn. He got Exc and was third in championclass. Tepi will go to just
one show for now. He hates to be in the ring and he looks so tired. Actually
I had to chase him in the morning. When we get up early in weekends and I’m
packing up he knows it doesn’t mean anything good. Tepi is just like his
Pitsi-mom, in good and bad. After few weeks
me and Soni will ahed to Swedish basenjispecialty. Tepi will be relaxing the
whole weekend with “grandma”. 4.6. We had a long and
hot weekend in Estonia. There were two shows Estonian sighthoundspecialty and
Estonian Winner 2007. On Saturday we waited for the ring to start for 4
hours. Tepi didn’t mind at all.. He was BOB and got the CC that made him EST
CH! On Sunday it was
Soni’s time to continue. Soni was BOB and got both Winner-titles in front of
his name! Tepi did also fine and got his second CACIB! I’m so proud of you
boys! Congratulations also to Ciara, Neela and of course to ADHD afghan hound
MiuMiu! Next weekend
there will be basenjispecialty and Soni will also take part to Jämsänkoski
dog show on Sunday. Tomorrow will be my 26th birthday. No need to
congratulate.. J MAY 7.5. What a weekend..
We were visiting in Estonia and boys were there too! We participated in
lc-competition for the first time this year. Tepi ran very nicely but
unfortunately he was running without a pair in the first run and he didn’t
get as much points that he would got with a pair. Soni was running
for the first time and I’m not sure what he was doing on the field.. In the
first run he was too scared to pass his pair and his points were quite low.
In the finalrun he fall down but continued hunting right after he found his
feet again.. I’m happy with my boys, they really did their best! Summer and dog
shows are coming! I listed all the shows where we are going as far as I know. 2.5. Long time has
passed again.. My new “look” is ready and waiting for great results from lc
and shows! J You can find out
what has been happening from the updates! FEBRUARY 11.2. Time is runnig so
fast.. Tepi was 3rd in champion class in Turku and finally BD4. Quite well
when I’m handling him. I handled also
Tepi’s Diva-sister in BB-ring. Placement was also 4th. Thank you Katja! J Winter has really
been freezing.. This week -35 degrees of celcius. You can imagine how much
boys like to be outside. Good thing about this week was that Tepi is now
Middle-Finlands showdog of the year 2006! Just like Pitsi-mom was few years
ago! Next Tampere INT.
Until that we’ll stay under the blankets.. JANUARY 11.1. Happy New Year!
Tepi’s second birthday was 26th of December and it meant that he’ll ”be
ready” to be FIN CH. We didn’t have to wait for it for a long time... In
Kajaani INT Tepi received his last CC and his first CACIB. What a great start
for this year! Diva-sister did it too! Sister an her brother are now known as
FIN CHs! Next Tepi will go
to Turku INT and the judge will be Jarmo Vuorinen (FIN). It will be his first
time in championclass too! Soni will be seen (perhaps) in Tampere INT in
March. Boys are now focusing (like their owners) enjoying the warmth of
fireplace and eating well. Waiting for the spring.. YEAR 2006 DECEMBER 13.12. Year is coming to
it’s end and this year’s shows are over. In Jyväskylä INT Soni got VG because
he was too interested on the carpet... J These things just happens
sometimes... Tepi got excellent. We didn’t have
any expectations when we left to Finnish Winner -06 show to Helsinki, boys
would have over 70 basenjies to compete with. Excellent would be just fine.
Soni thought that it wouldn’t be enough. He won the juniorclass (15 entries)
and got the title Finnish Juniorwinner 2006. Still it wasn’t enough and
finally he was BD2 with his second CC. Tepi got excellent and a nice
critique. Soni’s critique was even more than nice.. We are already
waiting for next year. Soni got his LC lisence few weeks ago and first
competition is just few months away. We have been watching next summers
shows, but we’ll see. First we have to enjoy christmas and take this year to
the end.. NOVEMBER 7.11. Last weekend was
Seinäjoki INT. Both boys did fine and got excellent from swedish judge Angeta
Kappers. They were both second in their class (juniorclass 9 entries an
intermediate class 3 entries). I was handling Soni and he really is a
hurricane.. Judge liked him still and placed him third out of all males. After few weeks
it will be our “homeshow” when Jyväskylä INT starts. Judge will be Chantal
Mery from France and both boys are going. After that there’s just Finnish
Winner OCTOBER 15.10. Another great
match show is behind! Soni was competing with 60 puppies and finally he was
BIS- There has been a
lot of questions about Soni’s sponsordeal. It will mean that Sony will give
us a small amount of money and for that we will advertise it in dog shows.
Everything will be much more clear during the wintertime. 8.10. Summertime is now
officially over! Boys both ran very nicely and Soni was running with a pair
for the first time! Neither of them had a muzzle because I was quite sure
they can compete without fighting. Tepi ran a good and secure way like
always. Soni had some troubles because he didn’t want to pass his “big
brother”. I’m sure he would have enough speed for that. I hope the boys are
not going to run in same pair too often next summer.. We have now a
sponsorship for Soni! SONY will sponsor us and our star of the future! J 3.10. I am happy to
announce that Tepi’s back is just fine! You can easily see that from
lc-competition’s points. This time he was third out of 11 dogs and it was
more than enough for me! Netx Sunday boys will run TOGETHER! Let’s see which
one is goint to win! All the shows for
this year have been deciced. We’ll be in Seinäjoki INT, Jyväskylä INT and
Finnish Winner 2006 (Helsinki INT).
Lc-competitions are over for this year, but next year we will
continue! SEPTEMBER 28.09. Long time has
passed since I last wrote and many things have happened.. I’ve cancelled two
lc-competitions because of Tepi’s back. He hurted it after Jyväskylä’s
competition because the points have been dropping ever since. I really hope
the massage and osteopath have helped. We’ll see it on Saturday when this
year’s final official competition is in Helsinki. October 8th will be our
sighthoundclub’c unofficial lc-competition. Soni will run too and I’m
thrilled to see what kind of points the judges are giving to him. Soni beat them
all in Porvoo’s show! He was only 9 months and 4 days when he got his first
CC and was BOB! Not bad! Next both boys will go to Seinäjoki INT and they
will compete to each other.. Instead of
lurecoursing last Sunday we went to match show. Tepi was BIS1! Judge just
loved his movement. Who wouldn’t..? Soni didn’t got placement, but the main
thing was that we all had a great time! Next week I will
start workin in local pet shop. I’ve been very busy because I’ve been working
in 2 jobs, finishing old and starting new one. Hopefully everything will calm
down a bit soon. 05.09. Not so good
weekend. Tepi was 9th and 8 dogs went to the finals. We will now have a few
weeks break and continue in Finnish Basenjiclub’s lc-competition Soni will be
tomorrow 9 months and he can compete in juniorclass. First time is going to
be on Sunday in Porvoo. We’ll see what happens.. J AUGUST 31.08. The last day of
summer. Yesterday we returned from our last trip to summercabin. Boys were
running free and enjoying. Next weekend we
will try lure coursing again with 16 other basenjis.. In last competition
something wasn’t right and the reason was easily found.. The massager was
here on Tuesday and said that some muscles were “too tight”. Luckily Tepi is
looking normal again. Hopefully the track isn’t too fast for him. I have a
feeling that Tepi is not so good in flat tracks. 21.08. On Saturday Tepi
ran an excellent 1st run and got (probably) the second best points of all. In
the final run I was too quick and let Tepi go too early and he lost a lot of
points because of me. In the end he was 6th but it was enough to become
Middle-Finland’s regional kennelclub! J On Sunday Soni
was 3rd out of 4 malepuppies. Judge liked him a lot and he got the prize of
honour again. This was his last time in puppy class. Kerttu (Bulldobas Dream
of Kenya) was 2nd out of 5 femalepuppies and Diva (Bulldobas La Scala) was
BB2 with CC! Congratulations also to Diva’s “sister” Nessa (Scuba’s Hot
Scotch) who got her last CC and was also BOB! 17.08. Boys have been
doing very nicely in match shows lately. They have both been in the BIS-ring
last week! The most unbelieveable thing was that my boyfriend was handling
Tepi in Tikkakoski’s match show and they were BIS-5! A great start and who
knows where it will lead.. Tomorrow Tepi
will compete in lure coursing. There will be 8 basenjies and the competition
is in Jyväskylä. On Sunday Soni will be in Heinola where Rajko Rotne from
Slovenia will jugde 19 basenjies. 05.08. Sawo Show
gathered all the dog-peoples in to Kuopio this weekend. We participated only
twice and that was truely enough! The temperature daytime outside was the
same than in nighttime on our hotelroom, +28 degrees of Celcius. We tried our
best to keep the dogs and sunburned owners cool. Friday was a
great day for team Bulldobas! Soni was BOB-pup (out of 9 male puppies) and
Kerttu (Bulldobas Dream of Kenya) BOS-puppy. I wasn’t expecting a lot from
Tepi whos is changing his coat at the moment. Judge James D Sillers (USA)
thought that good movement is the most important and didn’t care about Tepi’s
coat.. He was BOB and Tepi’s aunt Myy (Bulldobas Kito Kibibi) was BOS. Tepi
got his 7th CC but that wasn’t enough. We waited for the groupring under the
burning sun. Tepi was BIG-3! What a suprise! On Saturday Soni was
third with HP, Eino (Bulldobas No Kidding) 2nd and Timon (Bulldobas No
Regrets) 4th. It was Kerttu’s time to be BOB-puppy this time! What a girl...
Every puppy with name Bulldobas got prize of honour and were placed. Judge
Kenneth Stevensen (Ireland) was tight and he saw only Tepi’s coat. He got his
first VG. We didn’t mind at all, car was quite full of prizes anyway.. :-D JULY 30.07. Mikkeli INT was
today! There were 4 puppies + Soni and the judge (Unto Timonen FIN) thought
that Soni was the best, again. This was the 3rd BOB-puppy placement, let’s
see if it will continue next weekend. There will be 3 shows, but we will
participate only two of them on Friday and Saturday. Tepi will come too
eventhought he is changing his coat very badly.. We are going “whole family”
to a holiday trip and enjoying the last (?) warm days.. I tried to
explain a bit more to you what happens in Finnish lure coursing competitions.
Try to understand.. J 27.07. What an evening!
Tipi invited us in her ”heaven”. It’s an island in the middle of Muuratjärvi.
Dogs were running free all evening. Some pictures can be seen in picgallery.
Thank you Heikki and Tipi! 26.07. Today I was with
Soni in lure coursing practices. Now I can really say that he is doing so
fine! Lure was interesting from the start to the end! He is in quite nice
condition also. Thanks goes to the best coach ever, big-brother Tepi! 17.07. This weekend was
perrrfect! Soni was BOB-puppy in Laukaa. The critique was very nice and the
only “bad thing” was that his movement is a bit loose and puppy-like. His age
was 7 months and 9 days so I guess we can understand that. J Next Soni-boy
will go to Mikkeli show and the judge will be Unto Timonen FIN. Tepi suprised us
all in Sunday. We and Outi & Pimu the afghan went to Kuopio straight from
Laukaa’s show and stayed overnight at hotel. The reason was a open
lurecoursing competition (9 basenjies) near Kuopio. Morning started in hot
weather. Despite that Tepi was second after the first run. We waited for
finals and searched shadows from the burning sun. In the afternoon Tepi ran a
great final and got the best points! Eventually Tepi was the winner and got
his first CC from lurecoursing! When driving back
to Jyväskylä we had two CC winners in my car! Pimu was second (19 afghans)
and got her second CC. GREAT! Thanks to Outi for travelling company and Outi,
Molla & Jonna for tired & weird discussions during the day! 03.07. A hot weekend in
Mustiala is over! On Saturday both boys were in the ring and the results were
quite nice. Tepi was finally BOS (with 6th CC) and Soni second in
malepuppies. Team Bulldobas won almoust everything that was worth winning for
today and we also have a new CH! Tuuli (FIN CH Afrikenji Hot Sumabreeze) was
BOB in both shows. On Sunday the sun
wasn’t shining for me so brightly when Tepi was disqualified. (We weren’t the
only ones) Tepi was also trainig canicross with my sister. It’s looking good!
J JUNE 18.06. What a weekend! I
am so tired (but happy) after our basenjispecialty. In the morning I was
holding my breath because Soni was for the first time in a real show. Not bad
at all.. He was BIS-puppy and sweet Kerttu (Bulldobas Dream Of Kenya) was BOS-puppy.
They both also got an invitation to “Best gaint” -competition. Who would have
guessed that Kerttu (5 months and 3 weeks) would win..? Well, she did! Tepi did it fine
too! He got Excellent (not so common at all) and was second in his class. On
Sunday we went to Forssa, only 7 basenjis arrived but we didn’t care. Tepi
was BD-2 and got his 5th CC. Thanks and
congratulations to everybody again! Thanks to Tipi for giving me the honour
to take Pitsi to the BB-ring. Myy was BB-2 with her last CC and now we have a
new FIN CH! Pitsi-momma did it nicely too and was BB-4. Tomorrow I’ll be
25. I am really getting old. 11.06. Summer is here!
We are enjoying the sun with boys in our backyard.. Yeasterday I had
to go to work when Tepi went in European Winner -show. I was so nervose..
Tepi was second in juniorclass. Diva did it again and sooo fine! She is now
European Junior Winner 2006 (correct title is EuJW-06) and after this she
went BOB! Congratulations Tipi, Arto & Katja and thank you Isa for taking
good care of Soni in your 13th birthday! Thanks also to our new member of
Bulldobas-team: Emma! Next weekend will
be busy. On Saturday 164 basenjis will be in our specialty. Both boys will
ofcourse participate. Soni will compete with 40 (!!!) puppies and Tepi with
39 males. On Sunday I’ll take Tepi to show in Forssa. It is my “homeshow”
because I’ve lived most of my life there and my parents are living there. MAY 27.05. Today I stayed
home and Tepi went to Joensuu with others. What could be more awful than wait
and wait and wait at home? Finally the phone rang and it was awsome: “How’s
BOB-dog’s owner doing?” Thanks to Tipi for handling and Janne & Hansu for
keeping me updated! Tepi is coming home tomorrow and I’m sure he’ll get a lot
of wet kisses from mom and lil’ brother! 25.05. What a wonderful
day! A lot of good food, nice people, beautiful dogs and of course SUNSHINE!
Middle-Finland’s Sighthound club’s “opening of the summerseason” or Winner of
the Year -show was very nice experience for us! Soni was BIS-puppy and Tepi
BOB! We weren’t the first who dropped out from the BIS-ring with Tepi. Best
thing today was that I was invited to SeniorHandler-competition. :-D Beside
“ordinary-show” we got a change to compete in different other classes like:
Best head, best movement, seniorhandler and juniorhandler. Only few and
carefully selected got invitation to these classes durind the normal show.. Now we have over 23.05. Today it rained
more than enough we I was driving to match show. I wantes to see Soni’s
reaction when it’s raining and you should behave in the ring. (I already know
too well what Tepi thinks..) It went well after all! Soni was the second in
”red-ribbon” puppies! Again we got a bag of food and a interesting toy. 21.05. Helsinki INT
a.k.a. Aptus-show: Tepi was the first in juniorclass! He didn’t place in the
BD-ring but we got a ResCC to take home! In the BOB-junior competition were,
suprise-suprise, sister and her brother. Diva won and she also was BOS and
got CC. Soni slept all
long day in his cage. He had a chance to train in “the-real-showring” for a
while with momma-Tipi after the judging was over. He is such a handsome boy! First a bit more
official show is in Thursday when we will take part in Middle-Finland
Sighthoundclub’s Winner of the Year -competition. Soni will be in puppy-class
and Tepi will compete in Basenjis. Tepi’s cousin Kerttu will also
participate! Let’s hope it’s not raining.. P.S. There is
life in Mars and the Hell froze last night. (Finland won the Eurovision
competition..) 18.05. Both boys were
seeing a vet today to get treir eyes tested. Both had one or two PPM-stripes
in their eyes. Luckily the sripes are “iris-to-iris” and it means it’s not
bad. Soni’s eyes can still be clean in the future, he is still a puppy. 15.05. Tepi’s LC career
did get a good start! In his first LC-competition he got second out of 5
basenjis and SQ! He was wearing for the firts time his muzzle and was running
first time in pairs. This year we haven’t even got a change to practise.
Tepi’s girfriends did well too! Tuuli 3/5 & SQ and Pimu 1/18 & LC
CC!! Way to go girls! J In Tuesday Soni
will be in showpractices and Wednesday both boys will chase lure in year’s
first practices! Thursday we go to see a vet who will check boths eyes.
Hopefully everything is fine! Saturday we’ll be in Aptus-show in Helsinki. It
will be a busy week. 07.05. Match Show ”season”
started quite nicely. We went there to see friends & friends dogs and
also to get Soni used to be in the ring. I wanted to handle both dogs
alltought I wasn’t sure if they should both be in different rings at the same
time. Tepi got red
ribbon and was the second in middle-sized dogs. Soni got also a red ribbon
and won the puppies! It meant that we would be in BIS-ring! I was so suprised
when the judge choosed my little boy to be BIS-1! She said that Soni has got
a excellent profile and that he is suprisingly calm for his age (one day over
5 months old!). Together boys won Next Sunday we’ll
be in Mikkeli in Tepi’s first lure coursing competitions. The week after that
we’ll be in Helsinki INT where 16 basenjis are judged by Sylvie Desserne from
France. APRIL 23.04. Quiet Sunday at
home while everyone else are in Lahti INT. Phone has been ringing and I heard
that Diva-sister was BB2 and got CC & RESCACIB. Congratulations again! Soni’s arrival
made me change the look of my homepages. For better or worst, I don’t know.
Isn’t change always a good thing? Boys are doing fine! Even better I could
ever wish. Tepi finally had the little brother he was hoping for and Soni has
a bigbrother whos taking care of him. What a couple! 17.04. Today it was
Tepi’s turn! CC and BOS with excellent critique! I thought he’d be a little
tired after Saturday’s show, but it didn’t have any effect. His movements are
so beautiful! What a handsome boy! Soni was with us for
the first time. On the way there he as a bit nervous, but when we were
returning back both boys were sleeping. Next is Aptus-show in Helsinki after
a month. Lure coursing practises will start soon and both boys will be
running. Hopefully the snow will melt before that.. 15.04. Finally we are at
home.. A long day in Lappeenranta INT is over! There were 16 basenjis, 8
males and 8 females. Tepi won the intermediate class with excellent and was
finally BD4! Diva-sister did it again... BOS and CC & CACIB! Unfortunately
Soni had to stay at home because journey was too long. (We were driving for 6
hours....) Next show is in Ruovesi the day after tomorrow. There will be 5
basenjis. We’ll see if the change of judge will have some effect on that.
More update coming soon! I think Soni has
settled down. He can’t speak finnish yet but I assume that big brother will
teach him that too. 07.04. Finally He is
here! We have been waiting for this moment for so long.. More later! Thank
you Nancy and Tipi! MARCH 18.03. Today was a very
nice day allthought it started already at When my
alarmclock started to make noises, I realised that this is not something a
person with normal mental health would do. No one can drive hudreds of miles
and pay a lot of money for few plastic ribbons. Still it feels like fun every
time. Now we’ll have a month break and continue in Lappeenranta INT. Spring is about
to come! LC practises will start in May. We should find a couple to run with.
I’d like to see how Tepi reacts when he’s not running alone. 07.03. First ”springmonth”
started but you can’t see any signs of spring yet. At nights it is still -20
degrees. I’ve received a lot of comments about Tepi’s clothes and not all of
them have been kind. I don’t dress my dog because I didn’t have enough dolls
as a child. I do it simply because he is freezing outside and it is
impossible to stay there long enough without clothes. Clothes and “shoes”
doesn’t bother Tepi anymore, actually he can stay outside longer and seems to
enjoy it too. After a week and
a half all dog-people will gather together in Tampere INT. There will be 35
basenjies and the judge is Steven Seymour from Australia. In this show all
grooming is forbidden inside the hall and nearby areas. Not everybody liked
this rule. Luckily I don’t have to do anything before going to the ring. There’s only one
question in everybody’s lips: Who will be the mystery new arrival? I’ll keep
all of you in excitement for a while and tell when there’s something to tell.
J FEBRUARY 06.02. Keuruu’s show
went quite well. Tepi was the best of all! We got the second CC and now Tepi
needs just one CC after his second birthday to become a FIN CH! Funniest
thing is that the trip was almoust cancelled for few times because on cold
weatrher (-30 degrees of celsius). Luckily we did it after all allthought my
car didin’t like the weather at all. The judge Esko Nummijärvi FIN loved Tepi
and the critique was wonderful! Cold weather has
kept us inside under the blankets and near the fireplace. Sun is shining
everyday a bit more and it gives us hope that the spring might still come
some day.. JANUARY 23.01. Turku INT is now
behind. Tepi was second in junior class. The best part was that FinJW-05 Diva
was BOS and got her first CC! Congratulations to the “little sister”! It has been
really cold in here. In the mornings it really was freezing! -36 degrees
celsius was the record. It’s clear that it was too cold for Tepi. Usually our
visits to outside lasted about 2 minutes. Tepi didn’t like att all his
overalls, shoes and cap. I really have to take a picture of him... I was
supriced how well he took the fact that we have to stay inside all day.
Actually I think that I was closer losing my mind that Tepi.. 16.01. New Year’s eve is
happily over! Tepi wasn’t afraid of the rackets, actually he wanted to come
outside to see them. All night went well in a strange place, nothing was
broken. (All my friends know that if you invite me, you invite my bazenzi
too!) Tepi finally find
the rodent from himself. This far he has destroyed sofa and my cellphone.
This started in the new home and I assume (hope more than anything) that it
will stop we he feels like home. Turku INT is in
next weekend. There will be 23 basenjis and judge is Paul Singleton from
Great-Britain. YEAR 2005 DECEMBER 19.12. Long weekend in
Helsinki is now over. I am proud that we got two nice critiques.
Congratulations to Diva-sister who is now JW-05! She is continuing the same
great way as her mother (JW-03) and granmother (JW-99). I bought a lot of
stuff with me (too much if you ask my boyfriend..) Tepi had lady
company again in the hotel room. Now it was time for sweet Tuuli (Afrikenji
Hot Sumabreeze). It was impossible to keep the lovers separated. 11.12. Finally we have
finished moving. New home is very nice and Tepi has been trying all new
things. Yesterday after washing Tepi went to sauna to dry his coat. Also Tepi
noticed that many cold evenings feel warmer next to the fireplace. New
“windowshelf” is also very useful. Neigbours are able to watch Tepi throught
the glass every day. Tepi learned
something unexpected from his mom. He doesn’t lift his leg anymore when we
are outside.. The whole last week was very stressing but the worst thing was
to live without a dog. I’m glad it won’t happen again any time soon. Next
weekends big shows are stressing me already. It will be tough for Tepi and
me. NOVEMBER 28.11. During the
weekend a thick layer of snow covered whole Jyväskylä. Tepi is playing a lot
with the snow. A cheap hobby J In picturegallery you can see how Tepi and his
girlfriend afghan hound Pimu are playing. End of this month is coming fast
and it means we’re moving. How can you forget it when everywhere are boxes
full of stuff? It’s only less
than 3 weeks to the Winner shows. In Saturday (Finnish Winner -05) there will
be 50 basenjis, 26 males and 24 females. On Sunday (Nordic Winner -05) there
will only half of that, all together 26 basenjis. First we still have to move
all the stuff to our new home. Fortunately Tepi will go to “granma” and his
mother will teach him again some basic truths of life. Now it will be easier
to move and also keep the doors open. Thank you Tipi, again. J 19.11. Is this a dream
or what? WE DID IT THIS TIME! Today was Jyväskylä INT, our “home show”. I was
soooo suprised when Tepi won the juniorclass.. After that he was in the Best
Dog-ring and came out as a number one! After competing with the BB1 he was
the Best Of Breed! He also got his first (but not last!) CC. This wasn’t yet
enough.. Out of 43 BOB-dogs he was the second in the group! A lot of trophies
to carry home. This was almost
too much for me.. I forgot to breathe many times during this day. Million
thanks to Tipi of handling my little boy. He couldn’t make it without you! 13.11. Yesterdays match
show went well allthought it was quite cold. We had a judge who required
beautiful movement. It’s nessecsarily to say that in that competition Tepi is
not the loser. We got a red ribbon and were the fourth. There were 34 puppies
participating. There will be 28
basenjis in Jyväskylä INT. Only a week time to stress... Finally the show comes to us and we don’t
have to wake early and drive hundreds of kilometers to it. I Hope it will be
a benefit to us. New pictures
added to Tepi. The year 2006 is coming fast so I add shows 04.11. The first actual
training session is over. I’m not sure how much we learned but at least all the
others had fun.. When we were training recall everyone else let their dogs
free and dogs were anxious to get to their owners. Except Tepi, he had a Timing for
trainig isn’t so good. Girls are much more interesting than any kind of
treats. I am just hoping that the trainer will understand that basenji is not
a regular dog and it doeasn’t act like it. It’s a shame that training
especially for basenjis excists only in Helsinki. It’s a bit too far away. OCTOBER 30.10. First match show
in the parking hall is over. Tepi was handled by Tipi and she did it so fine!
Tepi won the puppies (almost 40 puppies all together!!). They also went in to
the BIS-ring and came fourth. Again a great experience for the next show.
Almost a 100 dogs barking in a hall with a great echo. Next week w ego
back to rutins. Kennel cough has leave Middle-Finland and we’re safe to start
training again! Now also match
show results in Shows 2005 page! 26.10. Today was the
beginning class of basic obedience in training club Taitavat Tassut A lot of
information but mostly familiar to girl who loaned all dog books from the
library since she learned to read. Only thing that I didn’t improve in the
lecture was the thing about being a real boss to the dog. After I read Barry
Eaton’s book: ”Dominance - Fact or fiction?” I was convinced that dog doesn’t
understand if we try to be the “alfa-wolf”. 09.10. Match show was
part of our today’s programme. Pimu was again in BIS-ring. Tepi got again a
red ribbon and was the second in group. I didin’t notice any sings of fear
towards other dogs. Wound is getting better all the time. 05.10. What a awful
day.. Tepi was attaced by fila brasileiro in the cetral of Jyväskylä. Owner
could’t control her fila at all and the dog was unleached. (Finnish law says
that no dogs are allowed to kept free.) Vet cost 50 euros, but how did it
affect on Tepi’s mind.. We’ll know that in the future. The result was a
teethcut on his back-leg. Vet shaved the damaged area and gave antibiotics.
Hopefully Tepi will recover soon. I am so glad that anything worst didn’t
happen. Dog that size can make quite bad damages.. 02.10. The first dog
show inside and a night at the hotel are over! We did very well! Althought
Tepi learned how to bark..! It was about 3 o’clock at night when he
discovered this new talent. Not so nice for us.. Tepi loved Pimu’s company!
It was almoust too intense sometimes.. In the Oulu INT
dog show we were the third out of 5 junior males. Not so bad for the first
time in junior-class! We also got an excellent critique! Now there will be a
short break on showing. The next show will be here in Jyväskylä and we are
looking forward to it. SEPTEMBER 25.09. Today was the
Middle-Finland’s Lure Coursing championship. Tepi won with good points:
231/300. He was running in serie for adults, despite the fact that he’s
nearly 9 mts old. During the run, it was raining quite heavily, but Tepi
didn’t mind at all. Judging was very tight. There were 3 judges and 2 of them
are judging in official lure coursing competitions too. I am very proud of my
little boy!! 22.09. Oulu INT is in
next week. 25 basenjies will enter and it will be the first time that Tepi is
in junior class. I’ve already booked a hotelroom that we can all have a good
night sleep before the Big Day. My dear friend Outi and her afghan hound will
stay in the same room. I hope that the trip woun’t turn in to a honeymoon,
Tepi might be falling in love.. 17.09. I was in the ring
for the first time! It was sooo exciting and I was very nervous at first.
After all it went quite well! Tepi was BOS-puppy and got a HP. It was the
last show in puppy class but I hope it wasn’t my last time at the ring. The
weather was very cold and chilling wind was blowing all the time. It didn’t
bother Tepi as much as the sweet ladies who had just left the ring. (His nose
was all the time sniffing the great odours they left behind..) |
